My name is Jacqui. Thank you for visiting my website. For as long as I can remember I have always had a passion for creating with my hands. I first became interested in creating dolls in the fall of 2013. While on a trip to Arizona, I fell in love with the work of a local artist. Inspired by her work, particularly through her use of color and materials, I found myself intrigued with the process of creating artistic dolls.
The creative process involves the use of repurposed materials and unusual beads and jewels, combining fabrics, colors, and textures, making each doll a one-of-a kind handmade, and intricately designed piece. After finding the right combination of fabric, beads, and jewelry, I begin to craft each doll individually. As the process develops, the personality of each doll unfolds.
I’m a previous resident of Chicago and having escaped the Midwest winters. I now live in sunny California. I often spend my weekends exploring estate sales, garage sales and resale shops, on the hunt for the perfect fabrics, jewelry, feathers and any other hidden gems that I might incorporate into my dolls, making them unique and one-of-a-kind.
Partial proceeds from all sales will benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Thank you for your interest in my story and I welcome any and all questions.
