My name is Jacqui. Thank you for visiting my website. For as long as I can remember I have always had a passion for creating with my hands. I first became interested in creating dolls in the fall of 2013. While on a trip to Arizona, I fell in love with the work of a local artist. Inspired by her work, particularly through her use of color and materials, I found myself intrigued with the process of creating artistic dolls.
The creative process involves the use of re-purposed materials and unusual beads and jewels, combining fabrics, colors, and textures, making each doll a one-of-a kind handmade, and intricately designed piece. After finding the right combination of fabric, beads, and jewelry, I begin to craft each doll individually. As the process develops, the personality of each doll unfolds.
I’m a previous resident of Chicago, having escaped the Midwest winters. I now live in sunny California. I often spend my weekends exploring estate sales, garage sales and resale shops, on the hunt for the perfect fabrics, jewelry, feathers and any other hidden gems that I might incorporate into my dolls, making them unique and one-of-a-kind.
Partial proceeds from all sales will benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Thank you for your interest in my story and I welcome any and all questions.
